Terms & Conditions
Last updated: January 2025
These terms and conditions govern the relationship between eDrivingLesson and our pupils. By booking a lesson you agree to these terms. Please read them before your first session.
1. Eligibility
To take driving lessons on public roads in the UK you must be at least 17 years old and hold a valid provisional driving licence. It is your responsibility to ensure your provisional licence is valid and current before each lesson. Driving without a valid licence is a criminal offence.
2. Booking
Lessons are confirmed once agreed verbally or in writing (phone, WhatsApp, or email) with your instructor or our office. We recommend keeping a record of all booking confirmations.
Lesson times are subject to instructor availability. We will always endeavour to accommodate your preferred times but cannot guarantee specific time slots at the point of initial enquiry.
3. Cancellations and Rescheduling
By the pupil: You must give at least 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a lesson without charge. Lessons cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice may be charged at the full session rate. Genuine emergencies are handled sympathetically on a case-by-case basis.
By the instructor: In the unlikely event your instructor must cancel a session, we will contact you as early as possible and offer the first available alternative slot. No charge is applied for instructor-initiated cancellations.
DVSA test cancellations: We accept no liability for practical tests cancelled by the DVSA due to examiner availability or weather. Your lesson programme will continue as normal until a new test date is confirmed.
4. Payment
Lesson fees are due before or at the start of each session unless a prepaid block has been purchased. All prices include VAT where applicable.
Block bookings are refundable for unused sessions, minus any administrative fee. Refund requests must be made in writing by contacting us directly.
We reserve the right to adjust lesson prices with reasonable notice. Prepaid lessons will be honoured at the price agreed at the time of payment.
5. Conduct During Lessons
Pupils must follow all reasonable instructions given by their instructor during a lesson. Instructors are entitled to end a session immediately if a pupil's behaviour poses a risk to themselves, the instructor, or other road users. No refund will be given for sessions ended on safety grounds.
Pupils must not consume alcohol, drugs, or any substance that may impair their ability to drive safely before or during a lesson.
6. Instructor Qualifications
All eDrivingLesson instructors hold a valid DVSA Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) badge. Pupils are entitled to request to see an instructor's badge at any time. We do not use PDI (trainee) instructors for unsupervised tuition.
7. Progress and Test Readiness
Your instructor will provide regular, honest progress updates. Test readiness is assessed by your instructor in good faith based on your demonstrated ability. We do not guarantee that any particular number of lessons will result in a pass. Individual progress varies and is influenced by many factors outside our control.
8. Liability
Our instructor's vehicles are fully insured to cover learner drivers. In the event of an accident caused by the pupil's negligence, you acknowledge that you may be liable for excess costs according to the vehicle's insurance policy.
We accept no responsibility for loss or damage to personal belongings left in the instructor's vehicle.
9. Complaints
If you are unhappy with any aspect of your lessons, please contact us directly in the first instance. We aim to resolve all complaints fairly and promptly. Formal complaints may be submitted in writing and will receive a written response within 14 days.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by English law. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Updated terms will be published on this page with a revised date. Continuing to use our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
